    Olga P\u00e9rez, director of the Institutional Relations Area of \u200b\u200bSEGITTUR, has presented the project and the selection of Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n as one of the destinations chosen to promote circularity in the tourism sector at a national level.<\/p>

    In August 2023, the results of the annual renewal audit of the Biosphere Sustainable Certified Gold certification of Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n, certified since 2013 and Gold destination since 2019, were received and our destination has renewed the certification for another year, having demonstrated management based on compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).<\/p>

    + 06.07.2023 Casa Trabanco receives the Biosphere Sustainable certification.<\/p>

    On July 6, 2023, the councilor for tourism, \u00c1ngela Pumariega, and the director of Visita Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n, Daniel Mart\u00ednez, traveled to the Casa Trabanco facilities to present them with the Biosphere Sustainable certification.<\/p>

    + 03\/29\/2023 Puerto Deportivo Gij\u00f3n and Camping Deva receive the Biosphere Sustainable certification.<\/p>

    On March 29, 2023, the councilor delegate for tourism, Santos Tej\u00f3n, and the director of Visita Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n, Daniel Mart\u00ednez, have delivered the Biosphere Sustainable certification to two new Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n companies: Puerto Deportivo de Gij\u00f3n and Camping Deva Gij\u00f3n.<\/p>

    For delivery, they moved to the equipment.<\/p>

    + 09\/15\/2022 Alonsos Peluqueros receives the Biosphere certification<\/p>

    On September 15, 2022, the councilor delegate for tourism, Santos Tej\u00f3n, and the director of Visita Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n, Daniel Mart\u00ednez, have delivered the Biosphere Sustainable certification to Alonsos Peluqueros, both at the location on Men\u00e9ndez Pelayo street and at the location in San Luis.<\/p>

    Delivery was made to the hair salons themselves.<\/p>

    + 05.04.2022 16 companies from Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n achieve Biosphere Sustainable certification.<\/p>

    16 Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n companies have managed to exceed all the required requirements and be certified, for the first time, with the Biosphere Sustainable seal, awarded by the Institute of Responsible Tourism (ITR) and endorsed by UNESCO and the World Tourism Organization (WTO). These are: Apartamentos Ce\u00e1n Berm\u00fadez, Hotel Abba Playa Gij\u00f3n, Hotel Costa Verde, Hotel NH Gij\u00f3n, Hotel San Miguel, Parador de Gij\u00f3n Molino Viejo, Artisan and Ecological Market, Asturian ways, LABoral Art Center, Laboral Ciudad de la Cultura, Bioparc Acuario de Gij\u00f3n, Catering Malena, CIFP Hospitality and Tourism of Asturias, mg.lab, Turrones y Helados F. Verd\u00fa and Infogij\u00f3n.<\/p>

    + 11\/23\/2021 International recognition for the Biosphere certification.<\/p>

    A report written by the University of Sherbrook for the organization \u201cTourisme Durable Qu\u00e9bec\u201d has analyzed all the online certification tools and methodologies aimed at sustainable development in companies.<\/p>

    The certification that came in first place, with a score of 100%, is the Biosphere certification developed by the Institute of Responsible Tourism (ITR) and which has distinguished Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n since 2013.<\/p>

    + 10.21.2021 Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n delivers the first Biosphere Sustainable certifications.<\/p>

    On October 21, 2021, the first Biosphere Sustainable certifications were delivered to Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n companies and entities.<\/p>

    The delivery was made at Casa Paquet, headquarters of Visita Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n, and the first companies that have obtained the certification in the city are: Parador de Gij\u00f3n Molino Viejo, Hotel San Miguel and Mercado Artesano y Ecol\u00f3gico.<\/p>

    + 07\/15\/2021 Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n renews its Biosphere Gold Destination certification.<\/p>

    Information on the renewal in 2021 of Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n of the Biosphere Gold Destination certification for the efforts made in line with sustainability.<\/p>

    The city has been certified since 2013, becoming a Gold destination, thanks to the incorporation of companies into the city’s commitment in 2019.<\/p>

    + 04.06.2020 Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n renews its sustainable certification.<\/p>

    Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n renews its certification as a sustainable tourist destination in 2020, maintaining the Biosphere Gold Destination accreditation.<\/p>
