How to get there?By road to Arenas de Cabrales and from here to Poncebos or Sotres (depending on the route). The hidden refuge of Cabrones, the highest in Picos, is accessed either from the Urriellu refuge, crossing the Corona El Rasu (between the Albos and the Neverón), or from the village of Bulnes, ascending to the sheepfold of Amuesa and progressing along the Traves to the fertile plain.
Approach
6 h – 8 h from Puente Poncebos: 1.5 h – 2 h to Bulnes and 4 h – 6 h from Bulnes to the refuge via Amuesa.3 hours from Vega de Urriellu through the Corona del Rasu.5 h from the upper station of the Fuente De cable car through the Horcada de Don Carlos and Jou de Cerredo (only for very experienced mountaineers).
